Provincial meeting highlights Shaoxing's preservation efforts

A provincial meeting held from Feb 29 to March 1 drew attention to Shaoxing's commitment to preserving its rich historical and cultural legacy.
During the meeting, representatives convened to exchange valuable insights on the preservation and utilization of historical and cultural assets.
Notably, Shaoxing's Cangqiaozhi Street received commendation from the provincial government for its exemplary approach to balanced preservation, enhancing the local living environment while honoring the city's heritage.
Emphasizing the significance of historical sites, the meeting underscored their role as guardians of history and culture.
Zhejiang stands out for its abundant cultural treasures, boasting the largest number of historical and cultural cities, towns, villages, and structures in China.
Currently, the province is home to 20 historical and cultural cities, as well as 94 towns and 218 villages of historical and cultural importance.
