Two AG100 new-generation trainer aircrafts took off on April 21 from Moganshan General Airport in Deqing county, Huzhou, beginning a journey to three general airports in Anhui and Henan provinces.
The route covered a flight distance of 1,200 kilometers, with an anticipated total flight time of approximately 6 hours and 20 minutes.
Crafted by the Zhejiang China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Institute, a subsidiary of AVIC General Aircraft, the AG100 is a lightweight basic training aircraft tailored for civilian flight students. The three-seat plane is predominantly constructed using cost-effective composite materials and operates on gasoline.
Ren Peiyu, general manager of the Zhejiang China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Institute, underscored the significance of these operational flights, signifying the official entry of the AG100 into the domestic civil aviation market. He emphasized that this development will infuse fresh energy into the general aviation industry in Deqing.
The institute has already established a comprehensive suite of capabilities encompassing product design, testing, mass production, and delivery in Deqing, positioning itself among the foremost global civil trainer aircraft manufacturers.
The AG100 factory in Deqing is poised to produce 20 aircraft this year, with that number expected to reach 50 by 2025.
According to specifications published by AVIC, the training plane measures 7.26 meters in length with a wingspan of 10.4 meters and can accommodate one trainer and two students.
