The Jiaxing Museum, in partnership with the Shaanxi History Museum, presents "The Essence of Tang Dynasty (618-907) Artifacts from Shaanxi", an exhibition that commenced on May 1 and will continue until August 1.

The exhibit celebrates the cultural zenith of the Tang Dynasty's capital, Chang'an, featuring 120 pieces or sets of Tang artifacts from eight prestigious institutions. It encapsulates the era's material and spiritual prosperity through cuisine, daily life, attire, entertainment, religion, the Silk Road, and more.

The Tang Dynasty epitomized a golden age of Chinese civilization. Its capital, Chang'an (present-day Xi'an), was the starting point of the Silk Road connecting Europe, Asia, and Africa, and was the largest and most prosperous international metropolis in the world at that time.

Now, Jiaxing's citizens can marvel at these treasures without the hassle of traveling.

The exhibition's highlight, Tang Sancai pottery, exemplifies the dynasty's artistic legacy and emphasizes Chang'an's multiculturalism, with numerous artifacts depicting the Northern barbarian tribes' figures in ancient China.

A local resident surnamed Li expressed his delight at discovering the exhibition during the May Day holiday, finding it a serendipitous alternative to his travel plans. The exhibition offered a unique opportunity to relive the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty without leaving Jiaxing.
