In the men's 4x100m final at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 held on May 5, the Chinese team secured a sixth place with a time of 38.75 seconds.

Shaoxing athlete Xie Zhenye, as a key member, had already helped the Chinese team secure their ticket to the Paris Olympics in the preliminary rounds the day before.

According to regulations, all participating teams in the Olympic qualification rounds of the men's and women's 4x100m relays were divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group, totaling eight teams, advanced to the finals, securing direct qualification for the Paris Olympics.

In the preliminary rounds, China's relay team lineup comprised of Wu Zhiqiang, Xie Zhenye, Yan Haibin, and Chen Jiapeng clocked an impressive time of 38.25 seconds, securing second place in their group. Their performance marked China's best record in recent years, surpassing their gold medal-winning time of 38.29 seconds at the Hangzhou Asian Games.

In the final, China opted to rest Xie and fielded young athletes. They crossed the finish line in 38.75 seconds, initially placing seventh. However, due to the disqualification of the third-placed Italian team for a lane violation, China was elevated to sixth place.

Xie, who has been training in the United States this year, has maintained excellent form. Apart from assisting the relay team in securing their Olympic qualification, he also achieved the Olympic A standard in the men's 200 meters last month.

Following the completion of relay duties, he will adjust his training regimen and head to Europe for training and competitions later this month, aiming to secure a place in the men's 100 meters at the Paris Olympics.
