Zhejiang's foreign trade ranks 3rd nationally in Jan-Apr
According to the latest statistics released by Hangzhou Customs, from January to April, Zhejiang's imports and exports were valued at 1.64 trillion yuan ($227.24 billion), an increase of 6.8 percent. Exports reached 1.20 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.5 percent, while imports totaled 443.66 billion yuan, an increase of 10.6 percent.
Zhejiang's foreign trade ranked third nationally, with exports ranking second and imports fifth.
In April, Zhejiang's imports and exports were valued at 433.58 billion yuan, a 4.2 percent increase, with the growth rate rebounding by 13.1 percentage points compared to March, data shows. Exports were valued at 321.84 billion yuan, up 2.8 percent, while imports were valued at 111.74 billion yuan, up 8.6 percent.
In the first four months of 2024, Zhejiang's exports to the EU stood at 202.13 billion yuan, marking a recovery and a 0.5 percent increase. During the same period, exports to the US, ASEAN, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa stood at 187.54 billion yuan, 165.68 billion yuan, 119.41 billion yuan, 111.57 billion yuan, and 102.15 billion yuan, respectively, increasing 6.1 percent, 8.0 percent, 5.3 percent, 4.8 percent, and 5.8 percent.
From January to April, Zhejiang exported 553.98 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products, a 6.9-percent increase and accounting for 46.3 percent of the province's total exports.
