The final peak of the "618" online shopping festival, an important annual sales event in China, has arrived, with the Ningbo Qianwan Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Ningbo, Zhejiang province buzzing with activity on June 18.
Unlike previous years, this year's "618" shopping festival was extended to a month-long period, with May 20 marking the first promotional day and kicking off the extended sales event.
During this extended period, cross-border e-commerce enterprises in the zone achieved a peak inventory of 10 million items in preparation for the surge in demand. Nearly 800 employees worked to ensure the smooth flow of goods, from sorting and packing to scanning and dispatch.
Consumer electronics, beauty products, and toys were among the most sought-after items during this year's festival. The popularity of these items led to shortages in some warehouse inventories, reflecting strong consumer demand during this period.
By June 17, the Qianwan Comprehensive Bonded Zone had processed over 2.23 million imported orders worth 751 million yuan ($103 million) during the extended shopping festival.
