The Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center recently announced plans to establish new facilities for ice sports, basketball, and swimming.
The venue, encompassing a stadium, a swimming hall, and a comprehensive training complex, covers a total area of approximately 580,000 square meters.
The stadium, the largest indoor venue in the province, has already hosted top-tier events such as the Women's Chinese Basketball Association all-star games and the Badminton World Federation World Tour Finals, as well as concerts.
The secondary gym of the comprehensive training hall will be transformed into an Olympic-standard ice rink, offering professional figure skating training and ice performances. It is set to become the largest ice sports center in East China.
The swimming hall will introduce a professional swimming training center, while the basketball facility will be included as part of the secondary gym.
The updated center will also feature facilities for soccer, tennis, indoor golf, and other sports, attracting more quality and unique sports brands. This will provide residents with first-class sports venues and a wider variety of exercise options and experiences.
The next phase will focus on developing the sports and entertainment economy, establishing the center as a sports-themed destination for events and health-focused activities.
