On Aug 10, Beijing time, the women's breaking competition of the Paris Olympics concluded at Place de la Concorde. Zeng Yingying, originally from Cangnan county, Wenzhou, finished 8th after losing 0-3 in the quarterfinals to world champion Dominika Banevic from Lithuania.

Another Chinese athlete, Liu Qingyi, won the bronze medal, while Japan's Ami Yuasa took gold and Dominika secured silver.

This marks the first time breaking has been included as an official event at the Olympics.

In an interview, Zeng expressed her pride in representing her country and viewed her 8th place finish as a recognition of her 12 years of hard work and dedication.

Born in 1993, Zeng showed athletic talent from a young age, initially training in track and field. She discovered breaking during the summer of 2012 before starting at Ningbo University's Sports College and quickly fell in love with its cool and dynamic style. She became known as the "Queen of Street Dance" on campus and later worked as a breaking coach while continuing to compete.

Zeng has represented China at various international events, earning numerous accolades, including the 2019 CDSF Street Dance World Cup runner-up and the 2020 China Street Dance League Cloud Battle B-girl champion. In 2021, she became one of the first registered breaking athletes at Ningbo Sports School.
