Wenzhou-Kean University welcomed over 1,200 new undergraduate students on Aug 17-18. These students come from 23 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China, including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as from countries like the United States, Poland, and India.
Said Dadashov from Poland was the first international student to register. Introduced to Wenzhou-Kean University by a friend from Wenzhou, Said, who has lived in Asia before, has always been fascinated by Chinese culture.
"I have some knowledge of China's history and culture, but I've never been here. Studying at Wenzhou-Kean gives me the chance to learn more about China and improve my Chinese," Said shared.
Among the new students are twin sisters from Hangzhou, Tong Zixin and Tong Ziyi. "Wenzhou-Kean University offers international educational resources and an English-taught environment, which is a great opportunity for us," Tong Zixin said.
Francis Li, an international student from the United States with ancestral roots in Yueqing, Wenzhou, chose to study at Wenzhou-Kean to connect with his heritage.
The university also prepared special gifts for the new students, including custom campus T-shirts and welcome packages. Additionally, the Student Learning and Activity Center provided various services such as campus network support, medical assistance, and payment stations to help students settle in, making the welcome experience both warm and efficient.
