The first Chinese-flagged luxury ocean liner, Zhao Shang Yi Dun, arrived in Dongtou district, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, on Sept 13, bringing over 600 international tourists for a half-day shore excursion.
This is the first cruise ship to dock in Wenzhou since the city was designated as a port eligible for visa-free entry of cruise passengers.
This docking event marks the first large-scale reception of international tourists in Dongtou. It has prepared multiple themed tour routes, allowing tourists to deeply explore the area's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Dongtou has upgraded several scenic spots and facilities and improved bilingual signage and international payment systems to provide a better visitor experience, according to Hou Wenqiong, deputy director of the Dongtou district tourism development center.
Zhao Shang Yi Dun sails on the "Shanghai-Zhoushan-Dongtou-Xiamen-Shenzhen" southeast coast cultural and tourism route. By mid-November, the route will have completed eight voyages, bringing over 5,000 international tourists to experience various aspects of Chinese culture.
On future voyages, international tourists will also have the chance to experience a one-day tour of Wenzhou and appreciate the city's majestic landscapes.
