The 2024 Annual Conference of the Architectural Society of China commenced on Oct 11 in Keqiao district, Shaoxing, Zhejiang province.

The three-day event features 26 academic activities, including keynote speeches, academic salons, forums, and roundtable discussions, which aim to explore new concepts, mechanisms, and models for urban and rural development for a sustainable future.

Shi Huifang, Party secretary of Shaoxing, emphasized that efforts have been made to revitalize the ancient city and explore new real estate development models, aiming to promote the development of the city's building industry.

Rui Leao, secretary-general of the International Union of Architects, stressed the importance of sustainable urbanization and the crucial role of architects and planners in enhancing quality of life in urban areas through environmentally friendly solutions.
