Taizhou, Zhejiang province, is increasingly becoming a haven for people who love outdoor activities.
Anji Mountain in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, has become a popular spot among paragliding enthusiasts. With its natural advantages like an altitude of 880 meters, over 700 meters of relative height, and a 60-kilometer mountain range, Anji Mountain offers ideal flying conditions, according to Fang Yue, head of the Anji Mountain Paragliding Base.
Since 2017, the paragliding base has gained in popularity, with the number of annual visitors increasing from hundreds to over 3,000.
The 6th Anji Mountain Paragliding Elite Competition held on Oct 24 and 25 attracted over 80 participants, including 18 from abroad.

Following this base's success, paragliding bases have sprung up in Huangyan district, Xianju county, and Tiantai county, sparking a new trend in Taizhou that combines low-altitude sports with sightseeing tourism.
Meanwhile, the Changtan Reservoir Loop Road in Huangyan, spanning 83 kilometers, is a spot for cycling. It serves not just as a transportation route but also as an area for entertainment and sporting events.
Wenling is also leveraging its natural ecological advantages to develop unique sports and leisure projects, with a focus on creating branded events like the Wenling Golden Coast Trail Race, which attracted 4,588 participants from 32 countries and regions in 2024, significantly boosting tourism and the regional economy.
