Blending tradition with modernity, the 12th Xitang Hanfu Culture Week concluded on Nov 3 in Xitang Ancient Town in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
The three-day event featured traditional activities like a float parade and armor show, along with new international elements. Foreign guests in hanfu dazzled at the dynasty carnival event, while international bloggers shared their experiences, demonstrating the charm of Chinese culture.
This is the 12th year in a row that Xitang has hosted the event, solidifying its reputation as the "Hanfu Capital".
Creating a more international environment is a priority for Xitang. Despite being a top-tier tourist destination, Xitang is in need of more accommodations for foreign visitors and seeks to improve multilingual translation services.
Xitang hosts a large number of interactive activities like flash mobs and immersive theater performances, which could be tailored to appeal to international visitors, offering a shared immersive experience.
Multifaceted international communication is necessary to make Xitang known and loved worldwide, with a recent tourism promotion event in Paris marking a new beginning for Xitang's global outreach campaign.
Looking ahead, Xitang will continue to explore new ways to promote hanfu internationally.
