Zhejiang launches provincial platform for e-commerce
Zhejiang in East China introduced a comprehensive digital platform aimed at simplifying cross-border e-commerce for companies across China on Oct 30.
Launched by Zhejiang International E-Commerce Holdings, part of the Zhejiang International Business Group, the platform integrates services across the entire e-commerce supply chain, from trade logistics to payments.
Chen Mingchun, chief digital officer of Zhejiang International E-Commerce Holdings, noted that 69 specialized service providers — spanning trade services, logistics, warehousing, and cross-border payments — are already onboard, creating a single interface designed to support e-commerce companies at any stage.
The platform aims to facilitate 35 billion yuan ($4.93 billion) in exports over the next three years, supporting 15,000 companies as they expand in global markets.
Zhejiang's cross-border e-commerce sector has been a growth leader in China, with a trade value of $69 billion in 2023, representing more than 20 percent of the national market. The province's exports surged by 38.5 percent in the first half of the year, surpassing the national growth rate by over 20 percentage points.
