The National Radio and Television Administration has recently approved the establishment of the "China (Xiangshan) Audio-Visual Industrial Park" in Xiangshan county, Ningbo, Zhejiang province.
The park — currently known as "Xiangshan Audio-Visual Industrial Base" — spans over 1 million square meters and includes key facilities such as Xiangshan Global Studios and Xiangshan Film and Television College. With more than 4,300 companies and studios, the park hosts a full-spectrum ecosystem for audio-visual production. In 2024, it reported 4 billion yuan ($546 million) in operating revenue.
The park is a powerhouse for film and television content production, accommodating over 1,800 projects, including acclaimed dramas like Nirvana in Fire and Joy of Life.
Adapting to market trends, the park has embraced newer formats such as web series and short-form dramas, which accounted for 65.45 percent of the 330 production teams hosted in 2024.
Beyond its creative output, the park drives local economic growth and supports rural vitalization. Thousands of Xiangshan residents have transitioned into film-related industries, including tourism and lodging, highlighting the park's role in fostering common prosperity.
