The Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World in Lishui, Zhejiang province is expected to open to the public during this year's National Day holiday.

It's expected to provide the perfect place for people to enjoy ice and snow activities within the city without having to travel far.

Located in Kaitan village, in Liandu district, the Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World covers an area of approximately 12 hectares, with an investment of around 2.5 billion yuan ($343.95 million).

According to Lyu Qian, the operations manager of Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World, the project plans to complete earth backfilling before the Spring Festival holiday and to finish the main structure of the ice and snow hall by the end of March 2025, with a trial opening on Oct 1.

The Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World essentially includes an indoor ice and snow hall, a resort hotel, and other key facilities.

The ice and snow hall will follow a design based on Norse mythology – with the venue layout divided into areas such as a skiing area, a Viking-themed restaurant, a Christmas-style commercial street, an ice rink, and a family amusement park.

On completion, the Nanming Lake Ice and Snow World project will become a new landmark for the high-end ski industry in southwestern Zhejiang.
