The third Ningbo Spring Festival Gala, themed "Festivity in Ningbo: Springtime Joy for All", presented the city's cultural vibrancy through a spectacular show on Jan 23.

Since its debut in 2023, the gala has grown from a local event to a global phenomenon, with this year's viewership surpassing 500 million from over 50 countries, including the United States, Germany, and New Zealand.

Directed by Zou Jianhong, the gala's essence lies in narrating Ningbo's story, blending its cultural richness with development perspectives. This year's event highlighted various city landmarks, creating a 90-minute narrative that resonated deeply with the audience.

The gala featured notable performances such as the depiction of the Ningbobang Museum, reflecting the heartfelt connection of Ningbo expatriates to their hometown. A big moment was the portrayal of a letter from a top official to Hong Kong entrepreneurs having Ningbo roots, which encouraged them to contribute to China's modernization.

Innovation took center stage with performances involving over 70 robots, sparking discussions about Ningbo's advancements in intelligent manufacturing.

The gala also had heart-wrenching performances that celebrated everyday heroes, like the construction workers of the Hangzhou Bay Cross-Sea Railway Bridge.

Local magician Dong Liang's nostalgic act that connected personal memories with the city's growth, received an enthusiastic response. His magic blended individual stories with Ningbo's collective progress, instilling a sense of pride among viewers.

The gala also served as a platform for cultural exchange, with international artists performing classic Chinese operas and music. As Ningbo continues to grow, the Spring Festival Gala remains a vital cultural anchor, fostering identity and pride among its residents.
