A reception to celebrate the 20th anniversary of China-Grenada diplomatic ties was held in St George's, Grenada, by the Chinese Embassy in Grenada on Jan 24. The Ningbo delegation was invited to give a special cultural performance.

This event coincided with Chinese New Year, and the Ningbo delegation, entrusted by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, visited Grenada for a series of "Happy Chinese New Year" shows. The performance on Jan 24 was the highlight of their visit.

Over 200 guests attended, including Grenada's Governor-General Cecile La Grenade, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, key cabinet ministers, Chinese Ambassador to Grenada Wei Hongtian, and overseas Chinese.

The performance kicked off with a festive dragon dance, followed by a graceful dance depicting Ningbo's stunning landscapes. Various acts, including a magic show, suona performance, traditional martial arts, and face-changing, captivated the audience.

The grand finale, "Oriental Splendor", blended traditional and modern elements, showcasing China's cultural diversity. Mitchell praised the show as "elegant and passionate", and wished the people of Ningbo a happy New Year.

Ningbo and Grenada have long-standing educational ties, with Ningbo establishing a Confucius Institute in Grenada. The growing relationship promises further cooperation in trade, education, and culture.
