Shuangfeng township in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, celebrated Chinese New Year with a remarkable cultural event, showcasing a narrative of cross-cultural exchanges that transcend the boundaries of time and geography.

The festivities kicked off with a lively parade. An international guest, donned in red robes, portrayed a zhuangyuan — the top candidate in the imperial examinations — and paraded amid a crowd of tourists.

During the "Throwing the Embroidered Ball to Seek a Spouse" segment, a tourist caught the embroidered ball and became the "groom" in a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony.

Together with the "bride", he engaged in rituals such as crossing over burning braziers and paying homage to the heavens and earth, immersing themselves in Chinese matrimonial traditions.

As night descended, a fire-stomping performance unfolded, where performers danced barefoot on red-hot charcoal, creating a "ballet of fire" that left onlookers in awe.

The cultural extravaganza not only provided international guests with a glimpse into the deep-rooted heritage of ancient Eastern civilizations but also offered residents a dual experience of visual and cultural delights. Shuangfeng township's cultural legacy shone brightly, leaving an indelible mark on those present.
