Over 20 expat residents gathered at Jimingshan community in Yiwu — a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province — to celebrate Qingming Festival on April 3.

Local Chinese residents prepared fresh mugwort and other ingredients for making qingtuan in advance and guided the international participants through the process, creating the fragrant green sticky rice balls. After learning about Qingming's customs and traditions, the expats expressed their admiration of Chinese culture.

At a tea ceremony experience activity, a tea master wearing traditional Chinese clothes explained the cultural significance and steps of the tea ceremony dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1127). The expats also tried their hand at a latte art creation using tea powder on freshly brewed tea soup.
