Ningbo firms expand in Russia
Ningbo's foreign trade sector is gaining strong momentum in the Russian market.
The 2025 Ningbo (Russia) Home Consumer Goods Expo, held in Moscow from April 1 to 4, wrapped up with promising results. According to estimates from the Ningbo council for the promotion of international trade, the four-day event attracted around 15,000 buyers and generated over 200 million yuan ($27 million) in intended deals.
This marks the second year the expo has been held in Moscow, and for nearly 30 Ningbo-based companies, the journey has proved fruitful.
"We came to showcase our flagship products and were surprised by how well-suited the local customer base was," said Ma Huijuan, chairman of Ningbo Keboda New Materials Co Ltd, "As soon as we returned to China, we immediately arranged follow-up meetings. The market potential is just too great to ignore."
According to Shen Wendan, general manager of Ningbo Yiding Home Products Co Ltd and second-time attendee at the expo, "There was a significant increase in both the number and quality of potential clients," and "Executives from major Russian chains like Hoff, OBI, and Spar toured the venue and praised the 'Made in China' products."
Jiang Beibei, business director at Sunway International Holdings Ltd, said their small appliances such as juicers and air fryers sold out at the expo.
"We met with our major clients and added dozens of prospective mid-to-large-scale clients. This confirms that focusing on the Russian market was a sound strategic move," she said.
"Going global takes work, but the potential is here," said a representative from the Ningbo council for the promotion of international trade, "We'll continue to support overseas exhibitions as a vital channel for companies to secure orders and expand their client bases."
