Lishui sees tourism boom during Qingming holiday
During the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, Lishui in Zhejiang province welcomed 923,000 tourists, representing a 25.6 percent year-on-year increase – the third-fastest growing in the province.
Among these, 556,000 were overnight visitors, up 23.2 percent. The city's total tourism revenue during the break reached 830 million yuan ($113.25 million).
Data from 24 major 4A- and 5A-level scenic spots showed they received 239,300 tourists, a 47.81 percent increase. Fifty key hotels hosted 26,800 guests, up 17.03 percent, while 41 sample homestays saw a 20 percent rise, accommodating 11,100 visitors.
Short-distance travel also gained popularity during the holiday, with local travel agencies serving 7,264 tourists, a 42.71 percent year-on-year increase.
Throughout the holiday, Lishui's counties and districts focused on creating rich and unique experiences that combined local and nearby attractions.
In Qingtian county, the integration of tourism and shopping boosted sales of imported goods. Yunhe county introduced five themed routes, bringing in visitors from Shanghai and Hangzhou to enjoy rural adventures.
Suichang county became a road trip hotspot with the integration of flower viewing with tea picking and outdoor camping. Jingning She autonomous county continued to attract crowds with its grand Sanyuesan Festival celebrations featuring She ethnic culture.
