Team China wrapped up the 2025 Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – bringing home two golds and three silvers, showcasing its continued strength in the women's events in particular.

Held at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center on April 8-13, the tournament brought together 276 athletes from 21 countries and regions.

As one of the Badminton World Federation-recognized Super 1000 events, the championships featured top-tier competition across five categories – the men's and women's singles, the men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles.

In the women's singles, Chen Yufei rallied from one game down to defeat compatriot Han Yue 11-21, 21-14, 21-9, claiming her first title at this event. Calling it a personal breakthrough, Chen said she stayed mentally focused despite early pressure, crediting her comeback to persistence and self-belief.

China's Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning captured the women's doubles title, overcoming Japan's Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida in straight sets. After a dominant close in the opening game (21-15), they held their nerve in a tightly contested second to win 21-19. Reflecting on the win, Liu emphasized the importance of resetting mentally and learning from past performances.

Elsewhere, Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn was crowned men's singles champion following Lu Guangzu's injury-induced retirement. Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet triumphed in mixed doubles, while Malaysian duo Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik clinched the men's doubles title over China's Chen Boyang and Liu Yi.
