Wuyi county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, renowned for its tea production, has successfully penetrated the international market in recent years with its premium tea leaves.

Recently at Zhejiang Wuyi Tea Industry Co, workers packaged 10 metric tons of tea for export to the Middle East. The products were packaged in a variety of sizes, catering to different consumer preferences.

"Our leaves for export are harvested from late April to mid-May, with a unique processing method that enhances the tea's color and flavor to suit international tastes," explained Zheng Xujun, the deputy general manager of the company.

The company, with 560 hectares of tea gardens, primarily exports to Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. It collaborates with over 1,000 farmers, boosting their income by 40 million yuan annually.

Each batch of tea undergoes rigorous quality evaluations before production, ensuring that the final product meets customer expectations. The steady product quality and favorable prizes bring increasingly more export volumes to the company.

"More than 760 tons of green tea have been exported this year, with a 13.8 percent growth year-on-year," said Zhang Yaping, the company's general manager.

The company boasts an annual export volume of around 3,000 tons valued at $6–7 million, and now orders have been scheduled through July.

Wuyi county's quality control measures to improve tea and organizing enterprises to participate in international exhibitions have paved the way for its tea industry to flourish globally.
