The first China Pujiang Stream Fishing Master Competition kicked off in Dafan township, Pujiang county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on April 27, with 132 fishing enthusiasts baiting their hooks and casting their lines beside the Huyuan River.

Stream fishing, which means fishing in mountain streams, differs from typical fixed-point fishing methods. It allows participants to freely move around and choose their fishing spots.

By hosting the stream fishing competition, Pujiang county aims to create a model event for stream fishing in the Huyuan River basin, promote the development of the local stream fish industry, and facilitate the integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism in the region.
