Lishui sees tourist surge during May Day holiday

Lishui's tourism market saw a big boom during the May Day holiday, welcoming 1.18 million visitors, up 25.8 percent year-on-year.
Of these visitors, 743,000 stayed overnight in the city. During the break, Lishui achieved a total tourism revenue of 1.14 billion yuan ($157.75 million).
Mobile data analysis revealed that 82.9 percent of tourists were from within the province, while 17.1 percent came from other regions.
The primary age group of tourists was between 23-45 years, accounting for 47.39 percent of visitors, followed by those aged 46-60 at 34.54 percent, and seniors over 60 making up 11.85 percent.
During the holiday, Lishui's 24 scenic spots rated 4A or 5A attracted 1.09 million visitors, up 18.59 percent year-on-year, generating 345.88 million yuan in revenue, up 14.52 percent.
Additionally, the city's 50 key hotels hosted 64,800 visitors, a 7.43 percent rise, with revenue reaching 30.82 million yuan, up 5.92 percent. Meanwhile, 41 major homestays accommodated 22,300 guests, a 21.75 percent increase.
Lishui's travel agencies served 30,800 tourists and organized group tours for 4,000 of them, highlighting the city's growing appeal as a holiday destination.
