A total of 48 companies from Jiashan county, Jiaxing city, Zhejiang province, participated in the recent 137th Canton Fair this year, securing over 200 million yuan ($28 million) on intentional orders across 80 booths.

After the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership took full effect on June 2, 2023, emerging markets with low logistics costs and multiple tariff benefits are rapidly rising.

This year, 288,938 foreign buyers attended the fair, a 20.2 percent increase compared to previous years, including 187,450 buyers from Belt and Road countries and regions — accounting for 64.9 percent and growing by 17.4 percent.

In a utensil enterprise production workshop in Jiashan county, workers stay busy producing steam fabric cleaning machines. Multiple production lines are operating at full speed to fulfill new orders received at the fair.

A representative of the utensil enterprise said that over 40 purchasers visited the booth daily at the fair, establishing connections with new friends from Europe, South America, and countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, providing opportunities to explore emerging markets.

As a supporter of companies in expanding and competing globally, Jiashan has implemented various initiatives, including conducting visits to 161 key foreign trade enterprises in the county, holding specialized symposiums for foreign trade enterprises in Jiashan and Guangzhou, and inviting nearly 30 key foreign trade enterprises to address uncertainties in the external environment.
