Fifteen international students from Zhejiang Normal University recently embarked on a cultural exploration in Wucheng district, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, immersing themselves in its rural beauty and development achievements.

The journey began at the Wuzhou Kiln Museum in Yafan town, where the group, guided by national intangible cultural heritage inheritor Chen Xinhua, admired exquisite ceramics and learned about the kiln's history.

As one of China's "Four Great Ancient Kilns", Wuzhou Kiln's profound cultural legacy left the visitors awestruck. A hands-on pottery session followed, with students kneading clay, shaping works, and decorating pieces under expert instruction.

Mohamed Yehya from Mauritania said the experience deepened his understanding of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and Wucheng's dedication to preserving heritage.

Next, the group visited Freestone Cafe in Wangjia village — a bustling spot blending Southeast Asian aesthetics with cascading waterfalls and palm trees. Ugandan student Nabateregga Judith exclaimed, "This is so cool! It is a beautiful place and the people here are very welcoming."

In the afternoon, the students savored local cuisine while touring Yantou village, a revitalized hub of local culture. They also explored tie-dyed products that blend traditional techniques and modern designs and admired ancient Chinese musical instruments.
