Jiaxing shines at Shenzhen cultural expo

The 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair wrapped up on May 26 in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, with Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province emerging as one of the most prominent participants.

Jiaxing's exhibition drew attention for its innovative fusion of culture and tech, signing contracts totaling 705 million yuan ($98 million). The Jiaxing's booths reported on-site sales of about 500,000 yuan and intended deals worth around 73.8 million yuan. Highlights included advanced tech demonstrations and traditional crafts.

Jiaxing-based TOALL debuted the first lightweight virtual reality (VR) headset, which is just 190 grams, equipped with domestic chips and AI models. It enables panoramic experiences such as the Qiantang River tide and offers real-time translation in over 100 languages.

Zhejiang Himalaya Network Technology showcased a VR show with an original production titled Journey to Little Penglai, combining audio-visual technology to bring traditional stories to life.

YesAR demonstrated technology of air holography, allowing users to control holographic displays without touch, presenting a futuristic interface.

In terms of heritage, HCHTM revived ancient attire with modern jacquard weaving, reaching nearly 30,000 yuan in sales. Other companies introduced products blending craftsmanship with contemporary design. A silk-themed tourism project from Tongxiang in Jiaxing also secured 20 orders.

TOALL led Jiaxing's achievements with a 705 million yuan deal to retrofit over 10,000 cinemas with VR screening rooms by 2026. Other companies collectively secured over 80 million yuan in intended deals, highlighting Jiaxing's rapid development of cultural industry and global ambitions.
