The Jiaxing International Legal Service Zone in the Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone of Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently began the construction.
About 15 professional institutions — including law firms, notary offices, and banks — signed agreements to establish a presence in the zone.
Additionally, a legal services base designed to help Zhejiang businesses going global was unveiled at the zone.
The zone will cover 900,000 square meters and center on the 624,500-square-meter Jiaxing International Financial Plaza.
The zone will serve as a comprehensive legal service platform, focusing on foreign-related legal matters. Moreover, it will aim to attract a diverse range of new legal service formats, support the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as extend across China and connect globally.
Jiaxing is known for its strong export-oriented economy, with foreign trade accounting for over 60 percent of its GDP. The Jiaxing Economic and Technological Development Zone currently hosts more than 770 foreign-invested enterprises from 45 countries and regions, creating significant demand for international legal services.
"The launch of this international legal service zone will enable us to collaborate with other professional institutions to offer more precise and efficient legal support for businesses that are going global," said Ding Yun, director of Shanghai Delson (Jiaxing) Law Firm.
