Facing an ever-complex global trade landscape, enterprises in Jindong district, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, have been ramping up their diversification into different international markets to drive foreign trade growth.

One of them is Zhejiang B&F Cosmetics Co, an established cosmetics exporter targeting Europe and North America.

Chairman Tang Hui said that they previously attended exhibitions only in the two regions, but now realized the limits of focusing on single markets.

In response to the common problem being faced by foreign trade enterprises, Jindong district created handbooks outlining key national and international exhibitions and support policies. With the help of the handbook, B&F Cosmetics adjusted its strategy to explore new markets.

Zhejiang Ronma Solar Energy Group, whose foreign trade across 30 regions accounts for 40 percent of its sales, has employed African graduates to penetrate the African markets.

By recruiting overseas students from local universities, the company has formed an international investment promotion team consisting of 12 members from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, targeting Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Vice-President Li Shengxian emphasized, "Jinhua boasts close economic and trade exchanges with Africa. African employees share language and culture with African merchants, which is crucial for building trust."

To bolster competitiveness, Jindong district has launched specialized teams offering tailored assistance — spanning financing, logistics, and market access — to enterprises.

Data showed that the district's total exports hit 5.78 billion yuan ($804.61 million) from January to April, up 19.02 percent year-on-year, leading all administrative areas in Jinhua.
