Global journalists explore Huzhou's green transformation

The State Council Information Office organized a media tour in Zhejiang province from June 11 to 13, bringing over 40 journalists from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkiye, South Korea, Japan, and Brazil to report on the province's green development progress.

Huzhou's green transformation and innovation left a lasting impression on the media delegation.

In Yucun village, Anji county, journalists observed the successful shift from a quarry-based economy to an eco-tourism hub, recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as a Best Tourism Village.

The village's collective income reached 22.05 million yuan ($3.07 million) in 2024, with the average villager income surpassing 70,000 yuan. South Korean journalist Kim Hyosin praised the harmonious blend of ecology and economy.

Nearby, the homestay cluster in Hengshanwu village, Anji county, captivated the media delegation. Japanese journalist Tomoya Shibata noted similarities with his hometown's tourism efforts and appreciated the area's beauty and comfort.

In Anji's Xilong township, the digital nomad commune exemplified modern work-life integration, attracting remote workers with its scenic environment and supportive policies.

Additionally, Zhejiang Fenghui Bamboo & Wood Products in Anji county showcased sustainable bamboo innovations, impressing journalists with their eco-friendly applications.

The tour also highlighted technological advancements at Geely Auto's plant and the green initiatives at Tianneng Battery Group in Changxing county. Journalists were impressed by the seamless blend of industrial progress and ecological sustainability.
