Highlights of U19 international basketball challenge in Quzhou

The 2025 U19 Men's International Basketball Challenge opened at the Qujiang Gymnasium in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, on June 13.

At the opening, China's U19 national team faced off against Egypt's national youth squad in an exhilarating match.

As the first international basketball event in Quzhou this year, four elite teams from China, the United States, Germany, and Egypt competed fiercely in the competition which finished on June 15 — featuring six exciting matches.

On the court, players battled it out, showing their slick skills with swift drives, layups, and scoring moments that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

"I'm a basketball enthusiast and when I heard about the international tournament in Quzhou, I came without hesitation," said Shao Zhilong from Jiangshan, Quzhou, brimming with excitement.

"It's amazing to watch high-level games right at my doorstep!" Shao said, when Zhang Boyuan, wearing jersey number 11 for China's U19 national team, broke through the defense and sank a stunning three-pointer, winning thunderous applause from the crowd.

Germany's Wurzburg Club and the USA's New York Renaissance Club then took center stage in a tough tussle.
