Foreign residents in Ningbo participated in a unique cultural event at the Baoguo Temple Ancient Architecture Museum on June 15, exploring centuries-old craftsmanship and seasonal traditions and aiming to foster cultural exchange and breathe new life into historical heritage.

The visit began with an immersive tour of the temple's Northern Song Dynasty (960–1127) hall, where sunlight illuminated the intricate dougong (interlocking wooden brackets) and centuries-old joinery. These guests admired the remarkable craftsmanship, with Samia Rafique from Bangladesh exclaiming, "Each mortise and tenon feels alive, linking the past and present."

The experience continued in the waxberry orchard, where visitors eagerly picked the ripe, ruby-red fruit. Magdalena Gimbut from Poland delighted in the sweet taste, remarking, "This is the best fruit I've ever tried! In Poland, we call it 'Chinese strawberry'."

Beyond the orchard, visitors explored an intangible cultural heritage market featuring traditional crafts and Ningbo delicacies. Engaging with artisans, they learned about embroidery, wood inlay, and dough figurines while tasting local specialties.

Reflecting on the experience, visitors shared that the event opened a door to China's rich cultural history. "It opened a door to Chinese history and culture, allowing us to taste, touch, and truly feel its beauty," one participant said.
