In Ningbo, Zhejiang province, a fashion show marked 10 years of Sino-British collaboration in design education.

On June 12, the Sino-British School of Fashion and Design, a joint undertaking between Zhejiang Fashion Institute of Technology (ZFIT) in Ningbo and the University of Salford in the United Kingdom as a non-independent Sino-foreign educational institute, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a show at the Ningbo Fashion Creative Center.

The event took place outdoors, transforming the surrounding architecture and lighting into an open-stage setting. Over 160 student designs from ZFIT and the University of Salford showcased bold ideas and cross-cultural creativity.

The show featured diverse interpretations of fashion in the digital age. Ningbo-based students combined the city's Hongbang tailoring legacy with emerging technologies like virtual projection and wearable art. Salford's collections drew inspiration from themes ranging from ballet nostalgia to football subculture, reimagining contemporary British style.

As one of Ningbo's first pilot academies and a top-level vocational cluster in Zhejiang, the Sino-British School of Fashion and Design has become a model for international cooperation in design education.

Yu Hong, dean of the school, emphasized its mission to integrate education with industry, create platforms for global exchange, and develop the next generation of creative talent, supporting Ningbo's goal to become a center of coastal fashion innovation.
