Huzhou writing brush shown in New York
The 18th session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities recently took place in New York.
During the conference, an exhibition, which was organized by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, opened at the United Nations headquarters. It featured over 200 exquisite cultural and creative works by disabled women from China, captivating international audiences.
Among the most notable pieces was the Zhuyin Fenghua writing brush set crafted by Fan Lingying, director of the Qinfeng Huzhou Writing Brush Factory in Nanxun district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province.

This set of seven writing brushes features barrels made from natural mottled bamboo and fernleaf hedge bamboo, distinct in their elegant textures and unique patterns. These materials not only provide a comfortable grip but also exude the refined charm of traditional Chinese stationery.
Fan's work not only displays her exceptional craftsmanship but also conveys her passion for life and relentless pursuit of dreams. Her creations received high praise from international delegates for their profound cultural significance and unique artistic value.
The exhibition included a diverse range of items such as Hezhe fish skin paintings, traditional wooden combs, handmade knots, creative fabric dolls, cloisonne, bamboo weaving, and more, highlighting the super craftsmanship of Chinese women.
