Construction started on a cold storage and logistics project on June 20 in Yudu town, a key part of the modern marine industry zone in Jiaojiang district, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

With machinery operating and crews onsite, the project has entered the foundation piling stage.

The town combines marine production, seafood processing, cold chain logistics, and tourism. The cold storage and logistics site spans about 4.67 hectares, with a total floor area of approximately 60,000 square meters. An investment of over 640 million yuan (about $89 million) is funding the construction of two cold storage warehouses and supporting facilities, including a refrigeration room, power station, and offices.

The project also features a digital platform utilizing smart cold chain systems to optimize storage visibility, product traceability, and operations scheduling. Once completed, the facility will enhance local logistics efficiency and food safety, while supporting the intelligent and environmentally friendly transformation of Taizhou's fisheries industry.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2027. Once operational, the project will streamline the supply chain from offshore fishing to market distribution, address logistical challenges, and increase the added value and competitiveness of regional seafood products.
