Education transforms life against the odds
When Yin Long walked across the stage at Ningbo University in Ningbo, Zhejiang province to receive his master's degree in Chinese history, it felt larger than life. It was the culmination of a journey many once thought impossible.
Born in a rural village in Anhui province with cerebral palsy caused by complications at birth, Yin's earliest steps into education were uncertain. His parents, determined to give him a future, persuaded a local school to enroll him. From that moment on, Yin pushed forward with extraordinary focus and quiet strength.
He excelled in academics throughout his youth, earning top scores and the respect of his peers. Although he first studied economics to align with family expectations, his true passion always lay in history and literature. Choosing to follow that calling, he changed paths and was accepted into Ningbo University's graduate program.
During his time in Ningbo, Yin immersed himself in every aspect of student life: leading as a class representative, participating in academic conferences, volunteering, and even earning a driver's license. His efforts earned him multiple scholarships and the title of Outstanding Graduate.
Through it all, Yin remains grateful — for his parents' sacrifice, his teachers' guidance, and the opportunities education brought him. For him, studying isn't a burden but how he sees the world.
