The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Energy Ministers' Meeting began in Ningbo on June 26, co-hosted by China's National Energy Administration and the Zhejiang Provincial Government.

As one of China's largest energy diplomacy events of 2025, the meeting showcased deepening economic cooperation between Zhejiang energy firms and SCO countries, with a strong focus on clean energy transformation.

Chint Group, through its Turkish subsidiary, signed a supply agreement with Achar Energy for a 65-megawatt solar project in Georgia. "Turkiye is a gateway to Eurasia," said Lu Chuan, director of Chint Group. "With our factory there, we can better serve clients across Central and Western Asia and Europe."

Chint has steadily expanded its services internationally, reaching over 40 countries. Lu noted that local hiring and training strategies not only enhance operational resilience but also create jobs, fostering mutually beneficial growth.

Windey Energy Technology Group, another Zhejiang-based company, held discussions with representatives from Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan during the meeting. One of its notable achievements is a wind farm cluster in Akmola, Kazakhstan, which began operations in September 2023. This facility became the country's largest wind farm at the time, delivering over 800 million kilowatt hours of green power annually.

In 2024, Windey's overseas orders rose 277 percent, and its newly installed wind turbine capacity ranked third globally. The company views the SCO and Belt and Road Initiative as essential platforms for expanding into Central Asia and the Caucasus.
