During the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Energy Ministers Meeting on June 26 in Ningbo, Jurabek Mirzamahmudov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Energy, highlighted the country's commitment to enhancing international energy cooperation and integrating green energy networks with China.
Mirzamahmudov welcomed key global partners and expressed appreciation for China's role in promoting collaboration among SCO members. He noted that the theme "Integrate Innovation for Energy Future" embodies the spirit of solidarity within the SCO.
In response to rising global risks and market instability, the minister emphasized the growing importance of cross-border energy cooperation. He stated that Uzbekistan is actively engaging with SCO countries in energy trade and transnational logistics.
Mirzamahmudov outlined several priorities: Modernizing power generation and storage, building an open and technically compatible SCO energy market, improving regional power transmission systems, and fostering digital, scientific, and financial collaboration.
Based on Uzbekistan's experience in developing green energy corridors, he suggested integrating with China's energy system and creating a unified Silk Road energy space to connect Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
