This summer, Xiaoyingzhou Island on the West Lake of Hangzhou is once again wrapped in poetic charm as bicolor water lilies — with quite a few rare blooms — grace the tranquil waters.
Bicolor water lilies are those whose petals have two or more distinct colors, which can contrast or complement each other — and they always go down particularly well with flower lovers.
In the early morning mist, the blossoms of the bicolor lilies on the surface of West Lake slowly open, revealing delicate petals in contrasting hues, adding a dreamlike touch to the shimmering lake. Alongside them, dozens of other lily varieties are in full bloom, making the island a floral haven for visitors.
For the best experience, visit there at sunrise, when the lilies are at their peak and the breeze offers a cool escape from the heat.
