The 2025 "Tianxia Jiangnan" National Martial Arts Invitational and the Jinhua Martial Arts Convention will be held from July 26 to 27 in Lanxi, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province.
Scheduled to be held at the Lanxi Sports Center, the competition will bring together around 800 athletes from across China, spanning age groups from young children to seniors.
It will feature eight major categories of traditional martial arts competitions, including boxing and weapons disciplines. Wushu free combat matches will also be held, with both youth and adult divisions.
Top masters have been invited to the event, such as the Shaolin Monk Troupe from Songshan Mountain in Henan province, and the world free combat champion Wu Songlu.
Lanxi boasts a rich martial arts heritage. For centuries, it has served as a vital transportation hub, linking multiple provinces and facilitating the exchange of martial arts culture. One of its standout traditions is Lanxi Nanquan, a 600-year-old Chinese boxing style, which was honored as a city-level intangible cultural heritage item in 2015.
Currently, Lanxi is home to 889 registered members of the Chinese Wushu Association and over 1,200 members of the Jinhua Wushu Association.
Through hosting this martial arts event, Lanxi aims to showcase its rich martial arts heritage nationwide and boost the integration of culture and tourism for deeper local development.
