The Ningbo Embodied Intelligence Industrial Base was put into operation on July 23 in Xiangshan county, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province — aiming to galvanize Xiangshan's AI industry and foster new quality productive forces.

The base started construction in May and it will include an innovation center and a robot manufacturing base.

The innovation center spans over 2,000 square meters and consists of a model training area, a data collection area and an industry-education integration practice base. It enables real-world data collection and the development of specialized motion models to pave the way for product market entries and large-scale applications.

The 8,000-sq-m robot manufacturing base is accelerating construction of robot assembly lines, core component factories and testing centers — targeting annual production capacity of 1,000 embodied AI robots.

According to Gu Jinlei, general manager of Ningbo Huaxiang Qiyuan Technology Co Ltd, the base will integrate with Xiangshan's industrial characteristics and tourism resources to drive coordinated development across related sectors.

He added that the base would also attract upstream and downstream component enterprises, helping Xiangshan to build a complete industrial ecosystem.

With the construction of the base, Xiangshan county is set to become a Zhejiang provincial demonstration site for the integration of AI and maritime industries.
