The 2026 Wenzhou Garden Expo, set to run from April to July in Zhejiang province, will feature 34 exhibition gardens, including 12 from Chinese cities such as Beijing, 11 international gardens such as the Italy Garden, and 11 Zhejiang-themed entries such as the Hangzhou Garden.

Among them, Ouyue Garden — Wenzhou's signature exhibition — is rapidly progressing and poised to be a distinctive local offering.

The park's hillside terrain sets it apart. As part of the landscape, the design fuses urban and natural elements into a layered eco-structure where "gardens lie within the city, and the city within the mountains." Ouyue Garden occupies a prime 12,500-square-meter lake-island site.

The island's foundation is now complete. The construction team is using traditional Chinese landscaping techniques to shape a dynamic garden inspired by classical aesthetics and the region's natural contours.

Once completed, Ouyue Garden will serve as a model for blending historical and modern elements in public space design. Key features — including a lakeside theater and tea culture space — aim to immerse visitors in Wenzhou's cultural heritage.
