A media delegation of over 60 journalists visited Tantou village in Wuyi county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Aug 10, to observe the innovative practices supporting the county's commitment to transforming ecological strengths into common prosperity.

Designated as a National AAA-level scenic area, Tantou village features a well-preserved ancient architectural complex covering 18,000 square meters.

By integrating wetland landscapes with local culture, the village has created a range of tourism offerings, blending dining, accommodations, and recreation into its rural ecotourism model.

Having won the Global Human Settlement Model for Villages Award in 2023, the village exemplifies how ecological preservation can drive economic growth and prosperity.

During the tour, journalists visited sites including the Wuzhou Kiln Exhibition Hall, She Ethnic Wedding Customs Museum, a folk art gallery, and Tianlu Cafe, experiencing the village's diverse business forms and vibrant culture.

Li Xuan from Qiushi Journal, visiting Tantou for the first time, said she was impressed by the preservation of ancient architecture and the Wuzhou Kiln.

At the She Ethnic Wedding Customs Museum, participants were introduced to She ethnic culture in Wuyi. They were captivated by the lotus-shaped sachets filled with medicinal herbs, inspired by Wuyi's iconic lotus, xuanlian.

Wuyi county has consistently emphasized the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" in its development, balancing environmental protection with industrial upgrades.
