Young participants from Japan's Kamakura, South Korea's Anseong, and China's Macao concluded a four-day cultural exchange on Aug 6 in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

During their stay, they visited key cultural and ecological sites and engaged in activities like handicraft experiences and ecological explorations. Through it, they gained insight into Huzhou's agricultural heritage, the craft of Huzhou writing brushes, pearl farming industry, and tea culture.

Strolling through the ancient village of Digang, the participants were captivated by the picturesque scenery. The village, known for its unique mulberry-dyke and fish-pond system — which has been recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System — impressed the visitors with its sustainable practices dating back 2,500 years.

In Shanlian town, the young folks learned about the history and craftsmanship of Huzhou writing brushes. They even tried their hand at making Huzhou writing brushes, guided by local students who shared the cultural significance of these traditional crafts.

Throughout the exchanges, activities such as pearl harvesting and traditional tea-making deepened their understanding of Huzhou's cultural and geographical heritage.

The event fostered mutual learning and friendship among young people from China, Japan, and South Korea, promoting cultural appreciation and cooperation.
