Over 2,900 skaters compete in Lishui for International Roller Skating Open
The opening ceremony of the 2025 China Lishui International Roller Skating Open took place on Aug 9 at the Lishui Sports Center in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province. This year's event, running until Aug 12, has attracted 2,981 roller skaters from 20 countries and regions.
The competition has many events, including the National Freestyle Roller Skating Championship, the China Speed Skating Open, the Lishui International Freestyle and Speed Skating Opens, the National Youth Roller Skating Club League (Lishui Station), and the Lishui Roller Skating Carnival.

The first events started on Aug 7, with top skaters battling in freestyle, speed skating, obstacle pursuit, and slalom over six days. The opening ceremony showed a bright cultural performance, including the traditional dance of the She ethnic group, highlighting Lishui's cultural charm and the art of roller skating.
The event also mixes sports with culture and tourism. Participants get discounts on local attractions, hotels, and dining. From Aug 7 to 10, the themed market outside the main venue offers local cuisine, crafts, and cultural creations, letting visitors explore Lishui's unique charm.
Lishui has long focused on growing roller skating, producing many world champions, and hosting national championships.
