A container truck carrying 13 metric tons of fresh fruit departed from Chenxing Farm, Xiuzhou district, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, bound for Shenzhen port area on Aug 18 before being shipped to Dubai.

The shipment included nearly 1,700 boxes of Shine Muscat grapes and honey pears, transported under a cold-chain system to ensure freshness on arrival in about two weeks.

This marks Xiuzhou's second fruit export to Dubai this year, following the first shipment of Zuili plums in July. The grapes and pears, known for their longer shelf life and better transport adaptability, are expected to further strengthen Xiuzhou's overseas presence. The buyer, Dubai-based supermarket chain Wemart, plans to first distribute the fruits across its outlets before expanding procurement.

Behind the growing global recognition of Xiuzhou fruits is the district's emphasis on standardized and branded production.

Chenxing Farm, with 12 hectares of vineyards, employs rain-shelter cultivation and smart irrigation systems, and holds both orchard and packaging registration certificates for fruit exports, creating a complete production-to-export chain.

Shi Peigen, a representative of the farm, said the shipment not only opened new sales channels but also boosted confidence in developing high-quality produce for international markets. With ongoing improvements in pest control, traceability, and compliance with global standards, Xiuzhou is building a stronger agricultural brand abroad.

Leveraging Jiaxing's air economy zone, Xiuzhou is accelerating the development and upgrade of its agricultural industry and supply chain, sending premium fruits overseas and demonstrating the district's determination to compete globally.
