The 2025 Hengdian Film & TV Festival will run from Sept 27 to Nov 16 at the Hengdian World Studios in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, according to the organizing committee on Aug 29.
Key events, including the 11th Wenrong Awards Ceremony, the China (Hengdian) International Film Fair and the 28th China Film Promotion Conference, as well as the Micro Drama Night, are scheduled from Oct 31 to Nov 3.
Known as China's Hollywood, Hengdian, with its profound cultural heritage and strong industrial resources, has already become a barometer for the film industry.
Following the first National Film Fair in 2023 and the first international fair in 2024, the 2025 edition will further cement ties among domestic and overseas producers, distributors, and investors to promote the cross-border distribution of outstanding film works.
Recognized as a comprehensive industry award covering film and television productions, the Wenrong Awards honor outstanding works and talent annually, aiming to boost the profiles of young creators in the field.
The 11th Wenrong Awards will see acclaimed filmmaker Jia Zhangke serve as jury president, whose artistic vision and rigorous selection criteria are expected to bolster the awards' credibility. The awards ceremony will be held on Nov 1.
In addition to hosting a raft of long-drama production crews, Hengdian has also emerged as a powerhouse for micro dramas. Between January and July, it welcomed over 2,300 micro-drama teams. Aligned with the trend, the Micro Drama Night will unveil annual actor rankings, highlighting the diversified development vitality of the industry.
Starting on Sept 27, the event will also feature star-scouting programs, an open day for film sites, the Hengdian marathon, and many other activities designed to immerse every visitor in the cinematic culture at Hengdian World Studios.
