The 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves kicked off on Sept 22 in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, drawing global attention to ecological conservation.

Representatives of the Qianjiangyuan National Park Administration in the province delivered a speech entitled "Qianjiangyuan, Zhejiang: Strategic Foresight in Building a Nature Education-Centric National Park" at the International Symposium on Nature Education Stories in Protected Areas, a side event of the congress.

Qianjiangyuan National Park is located in Kaihua county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province. Located at the source of the Qiantang River, Kaihua is a crucial ecological barrier in East China, known for its rich natural resources and vital ecological functions.

The park boasts extensive subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests. It's also home to the endangered black muntjac, a unique species with rare chromosomal characteristics, making it a key subject for mammalian evolutionary studies.

"Focusing on nature education, we have published interpretation manuals and developed courses and teaching tools for study tours," said a representative of the park's administration.

"We have invited locals to narrate ecological stories in native dialects and combined interpretations, education, and interactive activities to create an immersive natural classroom experience," she added.

At the event, the outstanding achievements of Qianjiangyuan National Park in the field of nature education have been recognized as one of the "Good Practices of Nature Education in the Chinese Biosphere Reserves Network".
